Browser extension

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Oui Do Good LLC handles information when you use the Oui Impact browser extension, retailer account connections, challenges, rewards, and related pages.

Controller: Oui Do Good LLCLast updated: July 19, 2026Contact: privacy@ouidogood.com

Summary

The extension supports challenge progress and retailer account connections. We use data from retailer accounts you deliberately connect and limited activity on supported pages. We do not give brands your retailer password or a copy of your unrelated browsing history.

A retailer connection imports the preceding 12 months of available order history and periodically checks for new eligible purchases. Its authorization renews every 12 months until you disconnect. Removing the extension stops extension activity on your device. Disconnecting a retailer stops future access through that connection, subject to processing already completed and records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or completed rewards and donations.

The extension may store preferences, consent choices, challenge context, referral context, and technical configuration in browser extension storage.

Information we do not intentionally collect

  • We do not intentionally collect private email conversations through the current retailer-connection flow.
  • We do not provide retailer passwords to brands, advertisers, charities, or agencies.
  • We do not intentionally collect precise location, health, biometric, or government-ID data for normal extension use.

2. How we use information

  • Operate retailer connections, challenge progress, Impact Points, rewards, and donation milestones.
  • Verify eligible retailer activity and prevent fraud, duplicates, abuse, refunds, or invalid claims.
  • Display browser-extension features you choose, including the side panel, supported-page messages, or optional new-tab experiences.
  • Measure campaigns and improve reporting using aggregated, pseudonymized, or limited event-level data.
  • Secure, debug, maintain, and improve Oui Impact and comply with law.

3. Sharing and disclosure

Service providers

We use providers for hosting, authentication, retailer connections, analytics, security, support, error monitoring, and data processing. They may process information only as needed to provide services to us.

Brands, retailers, charities, and campaign partners

We may provide limited reporting such as eligible order outcomes, campaign attribution, challenge progress, point totals, retailer-level results, and donation milestones. We aim to use aggregated or pseudonymized reporting where practical.

Advertising and measurement partners

Where you have consented and applicable law permits, we may transmit limited event data for measurement, attribution, campaign optimization, or fraud prevention. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense.

Legal and business transfers

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, restructuring, or sale subject to appropriate protections.

4. Chrome Web Store User Data Limited Use

Oui Impact's use and transfer of information received through Chrome extension APIs and from websites accessed by the extension will comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

  • We use extension user data only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed shopping-for-impact features and related security, fraud-prevention, reliability, and support functions.
  • We do not sell extension user data or use or transfer it for personalized or retargeted advertising, audience building, creditworthiness, or lending.
  • We do not transfer extension user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
  • We do not permit humans to read extension user data except with your specific consent for support, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, when required by law, or when the data has been aggregated and de-identified for lawful internal operations.

5. Your choices

  • Connect only the supported retailer accounts you choose.
  • Disconnect a retailer through available connection controls or the Privacy Request form.
  • Enable or disable optional extension surfaces where controls are available.
  • Remove the extension through your browser's extension manager.
  • Control website cookies through the consent banner and browser settings.

6. Retention and security

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, unless law allows or requires longer retention. Completed reward, donation, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting records may be retained as necessary. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained longer.

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.

7. Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising. We verify requests before making destructive changes.

Submit a request through the Privacy Request form. If you previously authorized a legacy email connection, you may use the same form to withdraw it.

Additional information for EEA, UK, and Swiss users

We process account and service data as needed to provide the service and perform our agreement with you; optional retailer connections, shopping-companion activity, impact banners, and new-tab preferences based on your choices and consent where required; security, fraud prevention, service reliability, and limited product measurement based on our legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and records needed to comply with legal obligations.

Account and authentication data are required to provide account-based features. Retailer connections, the shopping companion, impact banners, and the Oui Impact new-tab experience are controlled through extension settings. Impact banners and the Oui Impact new-tab experience are disabled by default. The installed extension still declares Chrome's New Tab override, so installation changes Chrome's New Tab handler even while the Oui Impact new-tab experience is disabled.

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use an approved transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. You may contact us to ask about the safeguard that applies to a transfer.

Oui Impact does not use extension data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

You may lodge a complaint with the data-protection or supervisory authority where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred. You may contact us first, but doing so is not required before contacting an authority.

Children

Oui Impact is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the revised version here and change the “Last updated” date.
